AR units plant saplings, organise medical camp

Imphal, July 16 2022:
Phundrei Battalion of IGAR (South) organised a mass tree plantation drive at Phundrei Awang Leikai and Langathel villages in Thoubal district on Saturday in collaboration with Thoubal Forest Division and locals to promote afforestation creating clean and green environment.
Informing that a total of 4157 saplings were planted at various locations around the villages, PRO IGAR (S) said in a release that the event was aimed at imbibing the importance of trees and spreading awareness amongst locals and troops on saving the earth by planting more number of trees.
Meanwhile, Churachandpur Battalion of IGAR (South) organized a medical camp at Aina village in Churachandpur district on Saturday to promote mutual trust, maintain peace and harmony in the region while simultaneously addressing the medical requirements in the underdeveloped villages.
A total of 134 villagers were examined during the camp wherein essential medicines were also distributed to all the affected people.
The villagers were also briefed about the rapid increase in Covid-19 cases in Churachandpur and advised to strictly follow Covid protocols.
Special emphasis was given on addressing the medical issues of aged villagers, women and children thereby educating them about healthy habits for a better living, the PRO added.
