Imphal, October 05 2015:
Former Sports minister and BJP Manipur Pradesh spokesperson M Hemanta criticized the State Government on the discovery of human skulls and other skeletal remains inside erstwhile Tombisana High School saying that the Government has been trying to shut down the case instead of probing it.
M Hemanta, speaking at the 7th Annual Literary Meet of Shining Academy, Langathel as chief guest said that educational institutes are sacred places and discovering eight human skulls and other skeletal remains from such a sacred place has become a big threat to the society.
The Government has been continuously trying to shut down such a threatening case instead of investigating it sidelining people's demand to probe the case at the earliest, said the former minister.
Government has also failed to bring a solution and normalcy in the State after nine lives were claimed in Churachandpur violence.
People have not seen the Government ever consulting academicians or experts on how to treat people during protests or how to end a public movement, he said.
The State continues to face a lot of problems as the Government has failed to bring solution to every issue.
It may be mentioned that altogether eight human skulls and a number of skeletons were discovered in December 2014 during excavation inside erstwhile Tombisana High School campus which was once occupied by CRPF jawans and Police Commandos of City Unit.
The function was attended by Pradhan of Langathel GP, Md Sahabir as president while Major Khagemba of 2 AR, Khongjom as the guest of honour.
