Imphal, October 03 2023:
Results of the compartmental and special HSLC examination-2023 conducted by Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BSEM) have been declared.
The results were declared by BSEM chairman A Joy-kumar in the presence of secretary Dr S Mangijao, controller of examinations in-charge L Suchitra, joint secretary Jitelal Sharma and ex-controller L Mangi.
The results were declared after BSEM officials paid two minutes' silence in memory of deceased students - Phijam Linthoingambi and Hijam Hemanjit.
While declaring the results, Joykumar said that a total of 3,346 candidates were eligible to appear the compartmental and special exam but only 3,256 candidates appeared.
Of the total students appeared, 3,240 candidates passed with overall pass percentage of 99.51 .
A total of 482 candidates passed in 1st division, 2570 candidates in 2nd division and 188 candidates in 3rd division, he added.
Regarding the delay in declaration of exam results, the chairman said that each candidate had to appear only one subject for the compartmental exam.
However, Manipur Human Rights Commission gave a directive not to victimise 43 students who could not fill up application form in time due to lapses by school authorities.
Accordingly, the board decided to conduct common examination with the same question paper for all six subjects from September 4 to September 15 .
However, prevailing situation in the state delayed conduct of the examination with the last paper held on September 25 .
This led to delay in declaration of the results, he explained, adding that passed candidates need not worry about admission as the board will arrange for the same.
