CNCM declares 3rd of every month as Black Day

As part of the movement launched by it to mount pressure on the government to bring solution to the ongoing crisis, Committee on Non-Cooperation Movement Manipur (CNCM) has declared that the 3rd of every month will be observed as Black Day till the resolution of the ongoing conflict.
On behalf of the Committee formed by different Meira Paibi groups of the state, Keishamthong Top Leirak Maning Meira Paibi secretary Sanabam Tamphaibema accused the Government of India of ignoring attacks on Meetei people by the Kukis even after completion of five months.
In view of the prevailing situation, the committee launched non-co-operation movement from September 18 and observed October 3 as Black October, she said, adding that movement of the committee will intensify if the Government of India takes no action to bring solution to the crisis.
According to Tamphaibema, the Government of India should take immediate action to nab and punish militants who have entered from Myanmar and Bangladesh and abetting the ongoing violence as their involvement in triggering the violence has been confirmed by the NIA.
She also questioned as to why the government is still reluctant to recover sophisticated arms possessed by the Kukis while asking Meetei village volunteers to surrender arms within 15 days.
She said that rribthers of Manipur will hand over looted arms to the government when sophistical -ed arms possessed by the Kukis are recovered first.
