Imphal, January 09 2018: Imphal East district police arrested two individuals and seized a huge amount of liquor from their possession at around 6.30 pm today.

According to a reliable source, a team of Imphal East district police carried out a drive against illicit drugs and alcohol at Soibam Leikai area, under Porompat PS .

During the drive, two individuals were arrested along with a huge quantity of Indian made foreign liquor and beer.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Moirangthem Rakesh (35) s/o M Sami of Soibam Leikai Meri Leirak and Heiyam Boby (26) s/o (L) H Babu of the same locality.

The police seized 60 Kingfisher beer bottles, 24 Tuborg can beer, 16 Diablo can beer, 8 Fort can beer, 28 Blenders Pride whisky, 21 OC Blue whisky and 24 AC Black whisky from their possession.

The arrested individuals along with the seized items have been handed over to Imphal East Excise Department for taking up necessary legal actions.
