Janata Dal United (JDU) Manipur State Unit has filed a case in Manipur High Court against the former MP of Bihar, Pappu Yadav and submitted a memorandum to the Indo-Naga interlocutor RN Ravi to protect the territorial boundary of the erstwhile independent kingdom of Manipur.
During a press meet held at the JD(U) Manipur Unit office on Friday, president of the national party Manipur Unit Moirangthem Tombi said that a case has been filed in the State High Court against Pappu Yadav alias Rajesh under Article 126 of the Indian Constitution and it has decided to send notices to all concerned including the Bihar Government, DG, Railway Minister and Home Minister through the Manipur Government and State High Court.
The case was filed against the unacceptable activities of the unrecognized Jana Adhikar Party president Pappu Yadav who allegedly checked for Manipuris in trains going through Bihar State, said Tombi, adding Principal Secretary Manipur, Ministry of Home including that of Bihar State and other political party leaders have been informed on the matter.
While appreciating the Centre's work to bring an amicable solution to the long drawn Indo-Naga armed conflict, JD(U) Manipur State Unit had submitted a memorandum to Indo-Naga interlocutor RN Ravi on Friday and put pressure on him not to threaten the territorial boundary of the State by the recent peace accord.
"We are happy to hear that 4000 NSCN (IM) cadres will be inducted into the Indian forces, but it is also sad that the contents of the peace accord have not been made public, said Tombi.
RN Ravi's assurance that the peace accord will not harm the territorial integrity of Manipur will be watched and what role the BJP Manipur State plays on the assurance will also be watched, continued Tombi.
