Ukhrul, April 29 2015 :
In what could be described as a trend setting spiritual move, the Youth Bible Fellowship Ukhrul (YBFU) is celebrating for the first time ever a youth freedom festival "FREE-ESTA" in Ukhrul Town this spring season.
Inspired by the Biblical Freedom as promised in the books of Galatians, YBFU is celebrating the festival under the aegis of North East India Youth Advanced Mission (NEIYAM) with the theme 'Celebrating the Freedom We Know in Christ' from April 30 to May 4 at Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Compound, Kasomtang in Ukhrul District Headquarters.
Expounding on the vision of FREE-ESTA, District Coordinator NEIYAM, Lummi Horam in a press meet held at View land Wednesday evening, said that the youth freedom festival aims in a new way to involve the youth in understanding and living out the true spiritual freedom.
He said that the youth freedom festival is designed in such a unique way that new life and vitality is breathed into the lives of the youth through presenting the truth about TRUE FREEDOM IN CHRIST through youth friendly activities like sharing words, music, art, dance, games, fun, friendship and laughter.
"So much for the conventional preaching of the Gospel, " he conceded while informing that this festival for a change would attempt to approach the youth with a new twist in the Evangelical Camp.
Significantly, FREEESTA spanning four consecutive days will be organized for the young people aged 15-27 years drawn from different 7 major churches of the town irrespective of denominations.
Event Coordinator Aso Chihui also informed that the festival would offer the participants a unique experience that would simultaneously expose them to spiritual, temporal and environmental enrichment.
He said that so far a total of 220 participants have registered for the upcoming youth event while spelling out YBFU's vision for holding the biggest Christian youth festival not just in India but also abroad in the years to come.
