Imphal, August 08 2020:
The Thadou Inpi General Headquarters (TI-GHqs) has claimed that Chingnu Kilong, president of Thadou Women's Association (TWA) did not resign on her own will but due to intense pressure and intimidation mounted by certain individuals.
A press release issued by TI-GHqs claimed that the said individuals even threatened the TWA president using the name of a particular underground outfit and forced Chingnu Kilong to sign on a pre-drafted resignation paper.
Stating that Chingnu Kilong effectively remains the president of TWA as her resignation didn't come from her consent, it asked persons involved in intimidating the woman to appear before them on August 15 .
Legal actions will be initiated if they fail to appear, it cautioned.
