Titular king administers oath to UCM office bearers

Titular king Leishemba Sanajaoba administered oath to newly elected office bearers of United Committee Manipur (UCM) for the term 2015-18 on Wednesday.
The titular king graced the function as chief guest, outgoing UCM president Yumnamcha Nabachandra, UCM Consultative Committee members Ibotombi Khuman and RK Ranendrajit, and a host of other members of the committee attended as president and guests of honour respectively.
Leishemba Sanajaoba administered oath to UCM new president Elangbam Johnson, vice president Sunil Karam, secretary general Yenkhokpam Dhiren, secretary organization Sanjit Soraisham, secretary finance Rajkumar Mangisana and several other members of the committee.
The titular king made a brief speech on the occasion.
He exhorterd all newly elected UCM office bearers to work harder with additional strength and grit.
"Let's not forget our task to safeguard the territorial integrity of Manipur.
We must follow the steps of UCM from behind and work with utmost integrity and unity," Leishamba urged the gathering.
Y Nabachandra said he felt proud of the new office bearers of the committee and hoped that they would bring in unity and integrity.
A souvenir dedicated to the 18 martyrs of the Great June Uprising was also released at the event.
RK Ranendrajit, who is also a senior journalist, spoke during the function.
He said he was very pleased that the titular king was among the participants on the occasion.
He called upon UCM to make concerted effort and work for Manipur and its people.
Ibotombi Khuman urged for a united effort to safeguard the traditional boundary of Manipur, saying the committee needs to work with the people now with maximum care in view of the Indo-Naga peace talks.
