Imphal, March 08 2018: A medical and rescue operation was conducted by Khuga Battalion yesterday.

A total of 17 villagers of C' Lancha suffered severe food poisoning and got critically ill after accidently consuming pesticide infested food.

The rescue operation was launched by Khuga Battalion immediately on receiving the news by providing timely first aid and medication at C' Lancha and stabilising their medical condition, said a press release from PIB Defence Wing.

Post medication and their further evacuation to District Hospital Churachandpur were monitored.

All individuals have now been reported to be out of danger.

The gesture of Khuga Battalion was lauded by the villagers and their families, it added.
