KSO Khengjoi Block condemns attack on army personnel

The Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO) Khengjoi Block has strongly condemned the attack on personnel of 28 Rajput Rifles by suspected valley based militants near Bongjoi Village of Khengjoi Block in Chandel district on March 6 where one security personnel was killed.
A press release issued by KSO Khengjoi Block general secretary said that KSO is strongly opposed to planting of bombs and IEDs which has a high risk of civilian casualties.
Moreover, threats of IEDs hinders the daily lives and economic activities of the people as they are terrified to venture out for fear of IEDs, it added.
It may be mentioned that many people have been maimed and killed by landmines in the past.
It said that the landmines were planted by valley based militants to attack the security forces, however, the casualties were mostly villagers of the area.
"It would be prudent of the part of the militants not to use IEDs or landmines in the area and to refrain from such attacks in the future.
The KSO Khengjoi Block also appealed to the security forces not to bother the innocent villagers as retaliation against such attacks.
The KSO Khengjoi Block expressed gratitude and appreciated the 4th Assam Regiments who have shown love and understanding of the local people during their deployment in Khengjoi area.
