According to Longjam Ratankumar, the fact about Manipur regaining its freedom from the colonial British on August 14, 1947 and had never lived under subjugation of any country in the past must be made known widely to the present and future generation.
As part of Har Ghar Tiranga campaign to commemorate the 75th year of India's independence being celebrated as Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Manipur government has been conducting different programmes related to hoisting of India's tricolour from August 13 to 15 .
