Imphal, September 16 2018:
Taking strong exception to the various comments made by different personalities on the occasion of Kuki Black Day on September 13, especially by president of KNO, PS Haokip, the United Naga Council today warned that in the event of any undesirable situations developing, PS Haokip, the KNO and its associates will be held responsible.
In a statement made available to Newmai News Network today, UNC said that it feels constrained to issue the statement in the light of the Kuki Black Day observed at Tuibuong, Kuki Inpi complex, Churachandpur.
The motive of the KNO in organising Sahnit Ni (Black Day) was to give credence to the 'so called Kuki movement to the outside world,' alleged UNC and added that it reflects their defeat and frustration.
According to the UNC, the world knows the origin and history of the Kukis and their first movement in Burma and the end result.
"Now the same people, after their failure in Burma, are playing the same game in the present State of Manipur and terms like genocide and pogrom being used by the KNO is highly condemnable," added UNC.
Due to the evil policy of the KNO, widespread confrontations broke out between the Nagas and Kukis and there were heavy casualties on both sides, said UNC and added that the KNO had instigated the innocent Kukis to fight against the Nagas.
As a consequence, many lives and properties were lost during 1992-1997 .
Asserting that there is no Tangkhul or any ethnic based political party in the history of Naga political movement, UNC said, 'Branding the NSCN as Tangkhul led NSCN by KNO is nothing but a satanic policy which will never be able to weaken the Naga National movement and position " .
