MACKMAL responds to L Susindro's allegations

The Manipur Awang Chingkhei Kanba Clubs and Meirapaibi Apunba Lup (MACKCMAL) has reacted strongly to CAF&PD Minister Leishangthem Susindro's allegations about the organisation.
Addressing media persons during a press briefing held at Students' Club community hall, Sawombung, Konsam Victor Pamuba, spokesperson, MACKCMAL refuted the Khurai Assembly Constituency MLA's accusation that MACKCMAL volunteers insulted meira paibis of Khurai AC.
He stated that perhaps the Minister misheard the words of MACKCMAL volunteers or maybe he was misinformed by certain individuals.
In addition, he clarified that until date, MACKCMAL has never stormed the residence of any State legislators or indulged in any violent or undemocratic acts of vandalizing their houses or properties.
He shared that on September 29 a public meeting was held at Sagolmang.
Similarly, a torch rally was taken out in different localities of Khurai and Lamlai AC which culminated at Khurai Popular High School around 8 pm and a public meeting was held.
Here, Victor clarified that no rally was taken out or properties vandalized after the public meeting concluded.
Further, he refuted MLA Susindro's allegation that the group was sponsored by some political parties and stated that MACKCMAL only takes part in social issues of the State and that it has never made decisions on behalf of the people.
The members of MACKCMAL consists of a diverse group of people, some of whom have voted for MLA Susindro and others who have voted many different candidates, he added.
During the press conference, MACKCMAL advisor RK Sunila also extended her deepest condolences upon the passing of meira paibi leader Longjam Memchoubi.
