INC candidate in Thongju A/C Bijoy Koijam today filed his nomination papers for by-election to be held on November 21 .
Bijoy Koijam along with Chief Minister O Ibobi, Deputy CM Gaikhangam, PHED Minister I Hemochandra, Congress workers and JD(U) president M Tombi filed the nomination papers at the RO's office, Imphal East district today.
BJP candidate Khumukcham Joykishan has also filed his nomination papers for the by-election to Thangmeiband A/C at the RO's office, Imphal West today.
Joykishan was accompanied by BJP Manipur Pradesh president Thounaojam Chaoba and BJP in-charge Prahlad Patel at the time of filing his nomination papers.
Speaking to mediapersons Chief Minister O Ibobi said the INC is positive of a sweeping victory in both the Assembly seats.
The developmental works taken up during the 13-14 years rule of INC would be showcased from beginning till the end.
The BJP has constantly hollered that the State Congress is corrupt but given the list of developmental works taken out by during the INC rule, the people can clearly see which among the two is more corrupt, the CM said.
Ever since INC came into power, the Manipur Public Service Commission has been voted one of the best commissions for its transparency.
The State Government has given task of recruiting grade 1 and grade II employees to the MPSC leaving little room for corruption, the CM observed.
The ruling Government is doing all it can to ensure transparency in its recruitment process, he said.
Development cannot be brought merely by wishing for it, one must work to achieve development.
The mess concerning the recruitment of police constables and primary teachers will be addressed soon, the CM assured.
The State Government is also mulling to fill up the vacant posts at DIPR soon.
Denying the BJP's allegation of conducting house campaign at Thangmeiband and Thongju, the CM said ,"I have been to the A/Cs during election campaigns, but never have I gone for door to door campaigning seeking votes.
The people know it" .
As seen in Bihar, BJP Ministers will soon flock the State for the by-polls.
They are most-welcome here, the CM stated.
