JNIMS receives letter of intent for increase in MBBS seats

The Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) of National Medical Commission (NMC) has sent a letter of intent regarding the increase of 50 MBBS seats at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), Imphal.
While confirming about the receipt of the letter of intent, Medical Superintendent of JNIMS, Khumukcham Lokeshore said that the letter was sent to the JNIMS authority by MARB, NMC today.
He also expressed belief that the process of the increase of 50 MBBS seats in JNIMS will be completed soon and may get the approval for the same within a week's time.
It may be noted that the intake capacity of MBBS seats will be increased to from 100 to 150 at JNIMS starting from this academic year 2022-23 onwards if MARB of NMC approves the increase of 50 more MBBS seats.
The MARB of NMC examined the Assessor's reports and reviewed the infrastructure facilities of the college, laboratories, availability of the faculty, their experience etc at JNIMS for increase of MBBS seats for the academic year 2022-23 .
