One day workshop organised

A co-operartive society is necessary in order
to carry out important tasks for the development of the State, said
L Tompishak Singh, chairman of managing committee, Institute
of Cooperative Management (ICM), Imphal.
L Tompishak Singh was addressing the gathering during
a one consultation workshop on "The formation of campus
consumers' cooperative society" at the ICM, Lamphelpat to-
day.
He said that people with similar perspective can complete
developmental tasks sooner than those who have differences
of ideas and opinion.
A cooperative society which comprises of collective effort
with similar approaches can fulfil any task efficiently, he
added .
K Joychandra Singh, director, Institute of Cooperative
Management, Imphal stressed on the need of constituting co-
operative society for farmers and weavers so as to effectively
generate income, contribute in economic growth and bring
development in the State.
Out of more than 7000 co-operative societies, there are
only handful of them who work earnestly and productively,
he said.
The programme was also attended by High Court
Advocate Ch Momon Singh.
