UNC team calls on Rajnath Singh

New Delhi, September 18 2014:
A delegation of the United Naga Council (UNC) from Manipur called on Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh here today.
The delegation expressed their concern about the Naga tribes in Manipur and their earlier participation in economic blockades in the State.
They also thanked the Government of India for assuring them to look into their grievances sympathetically.
The Home Minister informed the delegation that the Government of India is fully committed to solve their problem in a time-bound manner, but there is no scope for any violence.
The Government is aware of the aspirations, sentiments and views of the Naga people and has appointed RN Ravi as interlocutor and Government's representative for recommending a suitable solution.
Prakash Mishra, Special Secretary (Internal Security), MHA and RN Ravi, interlocutor of the Government of India for Naga Peace Process were also present at the meeting.
