Kangpokpi, August 26 2019:
The Kuki Inpi Manipur once again served reminders to the Prime Minister on August 21 about its firm decision to first demand justice before any conclusion is made in connection with the NSCN-IM.
An open memorandum signed by KIM president, Khaimang Chongloi and Shokholun Mate, general secretary again urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to first settle the murder of 905 innocent Kuki citizens including children, pregnant mothers, aged and invalid; uprooting 360 villages and seizing their ancestral land and displacing over 1,00,000 Kuki people and rendering them homeless before making any settlement with the NSCN-IM.
The perpetrator of the crimes was the NSCN-IM, alleged KIM.
It continued that the Kuki Inpi has been asking the Government of India to punish the culprits and killers before any settlement with the NSCN-IM.
"Any solution made without legal settlement of Kuki problem first, then the solution will sow seed of immediate social chaos and will cause extensive social and political upheaval in the region", it stated while adding that any kind of solution with the NSCN-IM without the participation of the Kuki Inpi, plus all other indigenous people living together will be counter productive.
