Rhythms of Manipur

A 16-member troupe of Rhythms of Manipur returned to the State yesterday after a successful 3-day tour of Bangkok in connection with the 2nd North East India Festival.
Notably, the troupe presented performances of National award winning fusion music performances of 'Dancing Drummers', State song 'Sana Leibak Manipur' and folk songs during the festival on July 30 and 31, a statement informed.
On both days, the troupe received standing ovations from the enthralled audience which consisted of dignitaries of both countries, officials and tourists.
The festival which started from July 29 was attended by Chief Ministers and Ministers from various North Eastern States except Manipur.
The Union MoS for External Affairs and Education Minister Rajkumar Ranjan was chief guest at the festival and stayed for three days and witnessed the performance of Rhythms of Manipur.
It may be noted that Rhythms of Manipur was sponsored by Indian Council For Cultural Relations, New Delhi and hosted by Indian Embassy, Bangkok.
