Imphal, October 25 2016:
In the aftermath of the attack on Chief Minister O Ibobi and his Ministerial team at Ukhrul yesterday, MPP has today criticised the Government's failure to give a befitting reply to the attack.
Stating that it has taken a serious view of the incident, MPP in a statement dubbed said that Chief Minister and his team had to return to Imphal without inaugurating the projects was as an insult to the people of Manipur.
Comparing the CM to a landlord who is unable to perform necessary rites in his own house, the party said that the existence of the Government has no meaning if it does not have the capability to inaugurate projects in a district of its own State.
It also asked the State Government the reasons for not taking up any initiative to root out NSCN (IM) from the soil of Manipur and why the Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) has not been declared an anti-social organisation.
This despite the fact that the Deputy CM had dubbed the Ukhrul attack as an act of war against the State Government, it added.
The visit and utterances of TR Zeliang, the attack on the Chief Minister and his team are all fallouts of the hidden agendas in the Framework Agreement signed between the NSCN (IM) and the Government of India, claimed MPP.
The open attack on the CM and his entourage was also an open declaration that the cease fire pact between the NSCN (IM) and the Government is in force in Manipur, it alleged and added that the attack was also an open challenge to Manipur and her people.
Stating that the State Government and the BJP led Government at the Centre should immediately stop the challenges to the State, MPP also said that the peace talk between Delhi and the NSCN (IM) is anti-Manipur.
The party also asked all to think whether BJP will be able to solve the myriad of unresolved issues in the State if it comes to power in the State and added that the Chief Minister and his deputy should resign if the State Government fails to declare the TNL as an anti-social organisation.
