Senapati, July 22 2016 :
Senapati district apex bodies including the Naga People's Organization (NPO), Senapati District Students' Association (SDSA) and Senapati District Women's Association (SDWA) have strongly condemned the raid on NSCN-IM town command office by the 35 Assam Rifles.
The civil bodies have termed the raid by the AR as 'unwanted' that has disturbed the peaceful environment of the District Headquarters.
They have further warned that, any form of activities by any armed group or Government agencies that attempt to compromise with the public security and tranquillity will be dealt strongly, our correspondent reports.
At a time when the NSCN-IM and Government of India are under ceasefire and the Indo-Naga peace talk is on, such provoking raid by the 35 AR is strongly condemned, the civil bodies stated.
Moreover, after the recent bomb blast at the DC office complex on July 10 this year, the Senapati District Frontal Organizations had reiterated its previous stance of declaring Senapati as a 'peace zone' which is expected to be respected by all concerned including the AR.
The CSOs have urged all the Government agencies, security forces, parties or groups not to disturb the peaceful atmosphere in Senapati.
Failing to respect the public decision to maintain peace, harmony and tranquillity in the district will result in a confrontation with the public, stated the statement.
