State logs four Covid deaths, 2.8 pc TPR

The Covid-19 pandemic has claimed four more lives during the last 24 hours taking the State's death toll to 1953 .
However, the daily positivity rate remains unchanged from yesterday at 2.8 per cent as 35 were confirmed positive out of 1,247 samples tested.
As per a report of the State Level Covid 19 Deaths Audit Committee, the four victims hailed from Imphal East, Imphal West, Bishnupur and Ukhrul.
Out of them, three had co-morbidities and none of them were vaccinated.
According to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and Covid-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, 35 persons were tested positive at RIMS (7), JNIMS (3) and other testing centres (25) .
They are residents of Imphal West (16), Imphal East (12), Bishnupur (1), Kakching (2), Chandel (1), Kamjong (1), Tengnoupal (1) and Ukhrul (1) .
On the other hand, following recovery 26 Covid-19 positive persons were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (8), RIMS (1), JNIMS (3) and CCCs (14) .
The cumulative number of positive cases is now 1,24,517 (general population 1,20,167 and Central security personnel 4,350) .
This figure includes 800 active cases (general population 787 and Central security personnel 13) and 1,21,764 recovered cases (general population 1,17,432 and Central security personnel 4,332) .
The recovery rate is 97.79 per cent.
During the last 24 hours, Kamjong recorded the highest positivity rate at 16.7 per cent followed by Imphal East 4.9 per cent and Imphal West 3.8 per cent.
Meanwhile a total of 365 D-type oxygen cylinders and seven B-type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health care facilities of the State yesterday.
Taking into account, 2945 doses administered yesterday, the total number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the State has reached 20,59,714 (first dose 12,61,813 and second dose 7,97,901) .
Till date, 53.90 per cent of the State's total population has been administered Covid vaccine first dose while 34.08 per cent has been given both the first and second doses.
