After five people were tested positive for Dengue in Churachandpur district, five new cases have been confirmed taking the total number of Dengue infected people in the district to ten.
In Senapati district, two cases of Dengue have also been reported in Saikul which prompted the district medical team to take up fogging and other necessary preventive measures.
This was informed by Chief Medical Officer, Dr Loli Mao, reports our correspondent.
More tests have been conducted and survey conducted in many parts of the district but there have been no other cases, added the CMO.
However, the medical fraternity is taking no chances.
Fogging in some places of Saikul was conducted by the State medical team, informed the CMO.
The CMO has also appealed to the general public to be cautious.

The medical team is beefing up efforts to monitor and conduct survey and blood test on those suspected patients in order to tackle it in time.
State Malaria Officer Dr Gamkhokam told The Sangai Express that out of blood samples collected from 13 people and tested at Vector Borne Disease Programme, Department of Microbiology, JNIMS, five samples tested positive.
Blood sample of a patient already admitted in JNIMS was also tested at the Department of Microbiology's referral laboratory.
The total number of blood samples tested for Dengue was 14 taking into account the blood sample of in-patient.
Out of the 14 people, five including three females tested positive.
The two positive males are aged 13 and 17 respectively.
Both of them belong to Shillong Hill (Rengkai) of Churachandpur district.
The three positive females are 35, 19 and 52 years old.
While one of them belongs to Moulklum Rengkai, the two others belong to Venglai Rengkai, said Dr Jamkhokam.
Meanwhile, a review meeting of DMOs/CMOs of all districts regarding the Dengue outbreak in Churachandpur district was held today with State Malaria Officer Dr Jamkhokam in the chair.
During the review meeting, the DMO/CMO Churachandpur was asked to intensify fogging exercise in order to eliminate Aedes mosquitoes and also to distribute pamphlets written in different dialects of different communities settled in Churachandpur district about Dengue preventive measures.
DMOs/CMOs of other districts were also advised to take up all precautionary measures.
