Hockey Manipur failed to qualify for the quarterfinals of the 12th Hockey India Sub Junior Women National Championship 2022 after losing to Hockey Jharkhand in their Pool B match played at the Khuman Lampak Hockey Stadium here on Tuesday.
The state girls suffered a 4-1 defeat to the Jharkhand squad, who came back from a goal down to overturn the scoreline.
Nisha Minj (45', 47') and Binima Dhan (38', 54') both scored a hat-trick to help their side secure a quarterfinal spot.
Mutum Priya Devi (30') netted the only goal of the home team.
In Pool A, Hockey Haryana thumped Hockey Bengal 7-0 to qualify for the last eight.
Sejal (4', 41', 56') led the rout with a treble as captain Saavi (9', 29') and Riya (25', 27') grabbed a double each to hand their side an emphatic win en route to the quarterfinals.
In Pool C, Uttar Pradesh Hockey recorded a comfortable 8-2 victory over Chhattisgarh Hockey to ensure their place in the quarterfinals.
Pumima Yadav (17', 20', 26', 55', 59') shone for her side, racking up five goals, while Komai Pal (18'), Peetambari Kumari (30') and Vandana Patel (52') contributed one goal each.
Geeta Yadav (25', 49') was the scorer for Chhattisgarh.
Hockey Madhya Pradesh confirmed their berth in the last eight after grinding out a 1-0 success against Hockey Association of Odisha in their Pool D contest.
Gungun Kaur (22')'s goal helped Madhya Pradesh emerge as the win neirs of Pool D that propelled them to the quarterfinals.
The quarterfinal fixtures see Haryana take on Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh clash with Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra play Chandigarh, and Punjab meet Mizoram.
All last-eight matches will take place on Thursday, May 19 .
