Imphal, May 17 2022:
Manipur Human Rights Commission (MHRC) acting chairperson Khaidem Mani on Monday launched a web portal of the Commission at his office in Lamphel.
Speaking on the occasion, Mani informed that complaints can now be filed to the Commission through the web portal while stating that launch of portal had to be put on hold due to shortage of manpower and other issues.
He also informed that an MHRC team called on the officials of National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), which then led to the opening of the portal.
Explaining in brief about the portal, the acting chairperson said that when one opens the NHRC web portal, they can go to the complaint section and file their complaint corresponding to the state and its related commission.
The complainant must upload all documents and details related to the case and no money will be charged.
So far, 22 complaints have been received via online and action would be taken after examining the details of the cases, he assured.
Mani then appealed to the people to raise their voice against any human rights violation, adding that the Commission will try to ensure all basic rights are protected.
The launch function was also attended by secretary and members of MHRC.
