Imphal, December 02 2018:
Aizawl FC (AFC) thumped TRAU, Kwakeithel 3-0 to remain unbeaten in the U-18 Youth League 2018-19 and emerged Rest of India Zone Group-B winners with 9 points here at Football Turf Ground Khuman Lampak.
AFC who have interestingly conceded not a single goal here in Imphal will be looking forward to a better finish in the final round.
TRAU were able to finish second in the group standing with 6 points while NEROCA FC which sealed a 2-1 win over GHSC, finished at the third spot with 3 points.
In the last match of the Group stage AFC made their intention clear right from the beginning and it was Lalremruata Haunhner who struck the first blow early in the 7th minute to put AFC ahead with a 1-0 lead.
They continued to dominate the ball and it were Peter Lalduhawma and Techi Tatra who made their way into TRAU's box and slotted home one goal each in the 40th and the 42nd minute to give AFC a comfortable 3-0 lead.
TRAU which had chances in both halves today failed to capitalise on the ball and convert on goal attempts today for a dismal finish after a fine run in the previous ties against NEROCA FC and GHSC.

In the match played earlier, NEROCA FC who were unable to made a positive impact in the group stage, edged past GHSC by 2-1 goals.
Roman Subba of GHSC was the first to opened up the scoring to give his team a 1-0 lead till first half but NEROCA FC rose back in the second half with Benjamin Lupheng tapping in the equaliser in the 63rd minute off a spot kick awarded while the winner was struck by Y Sonam Chothe two minutes latter.
