Elite cricket: RULE steamroll Al-Ameen as CRAU beat TRAU

RULE and CRAU collected full points in contrasting styles in the MNCA Elite Tournament on Friday.
RULE handed Al-Ameen an eight-wicket thrashing in their league tie at Cherapur, Thoubal.
The Malom squad bundled out the Lilong side for 136 in 30 overs and went on to chase down the target in 21 overs.
Nongthombam Sarojkumar was the pick of RULE'S bowlers, racking up four wickets as Jay Singh and Rohit Angomcha grabbed two scalps each, with Nongthombam Denin accounting for one.
Al-Ameen's innings saw Shahadat Ali (26), Akram Khan (22 not out), Md Al Bashid (21), Mustaque Mohammed (20) and Nawaz (15) score in double figures.
RULE had little trouble in their run chase as they overhauled the target in 21 overs with eight wickets to spare.
Jay Singh (43 not out) and Sanjenbam Somokanta (21 not out) took over the task ably after the opening pair of Rajkumar Herachandra (27) and Sanjenbam Suresh (28) got dismissed.
Herachandra was caught off Shahadat Ali's bowling while Suresh was run out.
Nongthombam Sarojkumar was adjudged the man of the match for his four wickets.
With the win, RULE jumped one spot to eighth in the standings with nine points from their 11 matches.
CRAU, meanwhile, beat TRAU by 25 runs to sit above RULE in the point table.
The Khamnam Bazar side's win on Friday at the Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium was then-fourth from nine games.
Electing to bat, CRAU piled up 240 for four in their 40 overs, thanks to their openers.
Lamabam Jotin, who batted at no 2, dazzled with a knock 86 off 70 balls, laced with six fours and four sixes.
Opener Sanatomba K, on the other hand, scored 51 off 73 balls including eight fours.
Other contributors to CRAU's total were Ronil Potshangbam (25), Khagenbam Bimol Singh (21), Govind Ayekpam (16) and Lamabam Ajay (13 not out) .
In the process, three of CRAU's wickets fell to Y Amritalaran, two to T Rishikanta and one to Priyojit.
In reply, TRAU put up a spirited fight but fell short of the target, scoring 215/7 in their 40 overs.
T Rishikanta hit an unbeaten 53 off 39 but his effort wasn't enough.
Karnajit (30), Abdul Kasim (25), Prafullomani (24), Dr Siddharth Shah (19), Anand (14), Amritakaran (13) and Bishworjit (13) were run-getters for TRAU.
Heishnam Joyhenba and Dinu Sarangthem snapped three wickets each while Lamambam Ajay took one in CRAU's 25-run win.
Lamambam Ajay earned the man of the match accolade for his 86 runs.
