Imphal, December 29 2021: The Scheduled Tribe Demand Committee Manipur (STDCM) staged protests at different market sheds demanding inclusion of Meitei/Meetei in the ST list of Indian Constitution.

The demonstrations were staged at Khwairamband Keithel, Singjamei Keithel, SIngjamei Temporary Market Shed, Kongba, Kwakeithel, Khurai Lamlong, Wangoo and Tera Keithel.

The street vendors raised slogans to send the recommendation for granting ST tag to Meeitei/Meitei and advocating peaceful co-existence of all communities.
