HC takes up PIL on school van incident

Imphal, May 28 2013:
Manipur High Court has taken up a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) on the incident of young students who fainted inside a school van of Northeastern English School located at Khewa Bazar along Tinseed Road after inhaling poisonous gas on May 23 .
Based on newspaper reports of the incident, Justice N Kotiswar raised the issue in the High Court for passing appropriate order from the judicial side.
Subsequently, a Division Bench of the High Court headed by Chief Justice AM Sapre registered the matter as a PIL yesterday.
The High Court had also served legal notices to five respondents who are to submit their affidavits by June 24 .
