Kidney patient finds saviour in Rotary Club

Rotary
Club of Polo City has given a
ray of hope to Yanglem Linthoi
(13) who is suffering from both
kidney failure.
The club has
declared that it would bear the
medical expense for the girl
who will undergo kidney
transplant at Fortis Hospital,
Vasant Kunj, New Delhi.
Speaking to media persons
at Manipur Press Club today,
Birla Haobijam, president of
Rotary Club of Polo City said
that Yanglem Linthoi from Top
Mayai Leikai Iril Turel
Wangma is suffering from both
kidney failure and her family is
not in a position to manage the
medical expense for the girl.
He said that Linthoi's
mother Sadna (45) has de-
cided to donate one of the
kidneys to her daughter as the
family could not buy kidneys
from organ donors at a stag-
gering amount.
Understanding the pain of
the aggrieved family, Rotary
Club of Polo City decided to
bear the medical expense in-
cluding transportation fare for
the girl, he announced.
Sadna said that her family
has been reeling under in-
tense hardship following the
kidney failure of her daugh-
ter.
She also said that her
family has no one to ap-
proach for seeking financial
help.
She expressed gratitude
to Rotary Club of Polo City
for assuring the monetary
assistance.
The family will
leave Imphal for New Delhi
on April 20 .
