'Snubbed' BJP 'candidates' cry foul, quit party

A number of intending BJP candidates have come out against the party, alleging that the party indulged in corruption in the process of ticket allotment and have resigned from the membership of the party.
Former MLA Doukhomang Khongsai who was an intending BJP candidate from Saikul(ST) AC today announced his resignation from BJP and said that he will fight the election on other party's ticket.
Speaking to mediapersons today, Doukhomang stated that he will soon join other political party and contest in the ensuing State Assembly election.
He further said that ever since he joined BJP three years back, he had been visiting every villages under Saikul(ST) AC and urging the people to support the party and its principles.
However, BJP allotted the party ticket to an individual who has, till now, done nothing for the welfare of the party and the people.
"BJP's decision shows that the party is biased and corrupt in nature.
Despite the Centre's assurance of allotting party tickets to those intending candidates who are sincere and hard working, BJP as a party has failed to keep its promises.
As such, I have decided to quit the party," he added.
In the meantime, Dr S Manaoton, who was also an aspiring BJP candidate from Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC, also informed that he will join a different political party and fight the election while going full blast against the BJP.
Like the others, N Nillakumar who was also seeking BJP ticket to fight the State Assembly election in Langthabal AC has resigned from the party.
He told media persons today that he would join a regional party which is genuinely concerned with the issues of Manipur and its welfare.
He said that he joined BJP with the objective of routing the 15 years old corrupt Congress Government and establish a clean BJP Government in the State.
But BJP has been indulging in corruption starting from the stage of ticket allotment, he alleged.
Nillakumar said that he would join a regional party which is not yet tainted with any corruption charge and fight the election under its banner.
