JAC on Bus Accident Tamenglong-Duigailong demands

JAC on Bus Accident Tamenglong-Duigailong submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister O Ibobi pressing him to provide compensation to the families of the deceased and injured persons of the accident occured at Duigailong on April 23 last.
Two women passengers died and eleven others were seriously injured in the mishap.
The memorandum demanded for compensation of Rs 5 lakhs to the next of kin of the deceased persons and Rs One lakh to seriously injured victims.
The JAC also pressed to immediately appoint the next of kin of the deceased, Thiudingliu Newme who served as a Grade IV employee at Tamenglong TH Hospital.
It also demanded for a suitable job for one of the members of the family of late Ningthuiliu, the lone bread winner of her family.
The memorandum also pressed to restrict service of all the overloaded bus and other vehicles along with the maintenance of daily arrival and departure records, penalise drivers who indulge in drug abuse, intoxicated and alcoholics and bar inexperienced drivers.
It also demanded for enforcement of rules for enhancement of bus service along ImphalTamenglong via Khongsang Road.
The deplorable road condition of Imphal-Tamenglong via Khongsang Road must also be improved with upgrdadtion to double lane at the earliest, it demanded.
