Cheiraoba greetings

The Governor Gurbachan Jagat, along with the Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh, Lok Sabha MP Dr T Meinya and Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee president Gaikhangam have greeted the people of Manipur on the auspicious occasion of 'Cheiraoba' being celebrated tomorrow.
Cheiraoba, a socio-cultural festival of the people of Manipur culminates with the arrival of a new year, which marks rejuvenation of the spirit of life and family relationship, conveyed the Governor in his message.
Stating that the festival is an occasion of introspection for taking new resolutions for the coming year, he exhorted the people to work together for fulfilling the prime needs of the present turbulent society of Manipur, 'that is peace and harmony which are the pre-requisites for development.
Greeting the people on the occasion, Chief Minister O Ibobi expressed that with the festival celebrated in the mood of rejoicing and gaiety, the rituals and colourful festivities will inspire one and all to transcend all barriers and unite the people in a common brotherhood.
"While extending my warm greetings and good wishes to all on the occasion, I also hope and pray that the festival brings peace, joy and prosperity to all the people of the State," added the CM's message.
Apart from MP Dr Meinya and MPCC chief Gaikhangam, GOC Red Shield Division Maj Gen DS Hooda and IGAR (South) Maj Gen CA Krishnan also conveyed their warm greetings to the people of Manipur on the auspicious occasion of Cheiraoba celebration.
Wishing the people peace, joy and prosperity, they also called upon all concerned on the need to promote brotherhood and kinship cutting across caste or religion.
