Nameirakpam (O) Lembi Leima has complained before the SC appointed Commission that the family of N Nobo Meitei, whose case has been taken up by the Commission, was intimidated by the police yesterday while her husband (father of N Nobo) deposed before the Commission.
According to a complaint filed by the mother of Nobo, Lembi Leima, about four police commandos came to their house and asked about the details of the family members.
The police team put up various questions about their family as well as the deceased son Nobo and his nephew Gobin.
The police officer also tried to implicate Nobo and Gobin as insurgents which she vehemently denied.
The officer hinted to the mother that he could offer a job to her second son Somorendro.
Lembi Leima appealed the Commission to ensure that families of victims and witnesses who cooperated with the Commission are not intimidated and harassed by the police and security personnel.
