Imphal, May 16 2011:
A public meeting cum discussion on the topic, 'people's responsibility in developmental activities' was held at Naharup Mayai Leikai today.
IFC Minister Nongmaithem Biren, Moirang A/C MLA M Prithviraj and former AMSU president Pangambam Premananda were the chief guest, guest of honour and president of the function respectively.
Speaking at the occasion, N Biren urged the general public not to take law in one's hand by using mob justice as a means.
He added that law Court is there to bring any criminal into justice.
Saying that development is visible everywhere ever since SPF Government had come into power in the State, the Minister urged the people of the Kshetrigao A/C to elect their representative who can bring development in the area.
M Prithviraj while speaking at the function claimed that O Ibobi-led State Government has taken up many developmental works which other past governments could not do.
He added that insurgency infested States like Manipur and Assam need development in all spheres to ease down people's woes.
Pangambam Premananda complained that Kshetrigao A/C which is at a distance of around 5 km from Imphal is lagging behind in all fields.
He said, although Iril river passes through the A/C people of the area are yet to get tap water.
He lamented that neither a single community hall has been constructed so far nor PDS items reach the targeted people in the Assembly Constituency.
