Colourful end to Barak Fest

The Barak Festival concluded with a spiritual retreat and entertaining events at Senapati public ground today.
Rev Dr Fr Neli Linus, Rector, Orients Theological College, Shillong was the speaker of the spiritual retreat while the evening musical session also witnessed the coming of new musical talents with Miss A Adane crowned the Barak voice hunt winner and Poumai choir group emerging as the winner in Chorale competition.
The programme committee convenor thanked the people and all those behind the success of Barak Festival.
Rev Dr Fr Neli Linus spoke on the topic of "Prospects of a Christian Society".
The renowned Catholic Priest stated that the message of Christ is spreading across the world.
He called for all to be united and to harmonise different culture, tradition, society to promote unity.
The Catholic priest further said that Barak river and NH-2 are the life lines of the people and added that they are God's gift to the people.
Greetings were delivered by Yam Bahadur Bhujel representing Gorkha Welfare Association, Senapati.
Mao won the traditional fire making competition, Zeliangrong won catching of piglets,.
