Imphal, February 06 2016 :
Shocked with the killing of their comrade, Salam Sanajaoba near his own residence, KCP (MC) Nongdrenkhomba group has demanded the Government to book the killers at the earliest.
The outfit is currently under an MoU with the State Government with all its cadres camping at a designated camp located at Moirang Khunou.
Salam Sanajaoba (28) s/o Khomba of Sadu Yengkhoman Mayai Leikai was shot dead by some unknown persons after he was forcibly taken away from his house at around 7.30 pm on February 4 .
Commander-in-chief of the outfit, Nongdrenkhomba while speaking to reporters at Manipur Press Club said that Sanajaoba went to his residence for some family related matters after taking permission from their designated camp on the day.
He said that Sanajaoba was shot dead after some unknown persons forcibly took him away the same night.
Paying homage to his slain comrade, Nongdrenkhomba said that Sanajaoba's death has left a huge void in the outfit.
Lamenting that two of their cadres have been shot dead by unknown persons in the past few months, Nongdrenkhomba said that these incidents have created insecurity to other cadres.
Another comrade identified as Amarjeet had also been shot dead at Wangjing around three months back, he said.
Nobody has been arrested regarding the incident so far, Nongdrenkhomba said.
He said that Sanajaoba was married last year and he is survived by a three-month-old infant and his wife.
He questioned, "Who will look after the infant and his wife now ?" .
He also urged the State Government to provide a suitable Government job to one of Sanajaoba's family members considering the hardships faced by the bereaved family.
Nongdrenkhomba also demanded the Government to arrest Sanajaoba's killers within this week and provide security to his cadres when they go out of the designated camp.
He also appealed to the group concerned to clarify why Sanajaoba was executed.
Nongdrenkhomba said that he had met Principal Secretary (Home) regarding the incident yesterday and he would submit a memorandum to the Chief Minister as well.
He alleged that the State Government has failed to translate many points mentioned in the MoU into action.
Nongdrenkhomba said that he along with his comrades signed the MoU with the Government as people of the State desire peace and progress.
Saying that the Government is providing only Rs 4000 to every cadre of the outfit per month, they have to go out of their designated camp to take up odd jobs and support their families.
Nongdrenkhomba questioned the Government whether the Government is waiting to get their cadres terminated one after another in the name of peace talks.
