All asked to abide by bandh call

The last respect to three ANDO members who were killed by KCP on May 31 was paid at the office of ANDO at Keishampat Thokchom Leikai here today.
The mortal remains of its finance secretary Thangjam Abung (27) of Keibi Mayai Leikai, secretary in-charge Naorem Deban (27) of Sekmaijin Awang Leikai and member Likmabam Surjit (22) were brought from the mortuary of RIMS to the office by ANDO and the bereaved families.
There last respect was paid to the departed souls by offering floral tributes and observing two minute silence.
Amidst tearful adieus, slogans were also raised against the killing.
Representatives of Meira Paibis of Keishampat Thokchom Leikai were also present at the occasion.
After paying the last respect, the bodies were taken to their respective birthplace to perform the customary last rites by the bereaved families.
While asserting that the bandh being called in protest against the killing of three ANDO functionaries is to give out a strong message to all concerned that such killings would not be condoned by the people of Kangleipak, president of ANDO Naorem Memma informed that religious function, fire service and medical services would be exempted from the purview of the bandh.
In a statement, ANDO president appealed to all the people not to venture out during the bandh and warned that anybody who defy the bandh call should themselves he held responsible for any eventualities.
