Warm reception accorded to successful candidates

Chief minister okram Ibobi Singh has announced cash award of Rs 1 lakh each to candidates who had succeeded in the UPSC conducted civil services and NDA/CDS examinations.
The announcement was made during the reception function of civil services NDA examinations successful candidates held this evening at the CM's bungalow and attended by a number of Ministers, MLAs and high ranking officials.
In all 18 candidates from Manipur passed the civil services examination while 12 Sainik School, Imphal cadets were successful in the NDA examination.
Out of the 18, five candidates qualified for the indian Forest Service and include Ajeeta Longjam, Laishram Chanu Bandana, Shamom Khelen Singh, Lhinghoikim Touthang and Alemo Michael.
Those who scaled the UPSC test in the civil services examination are Aribam Radhabinod Singh, Oinam Sarankumar Singh, Bandana Devi Nongmaithem, Anna Rammawii Haokip, Soibam Victor Dev, Robert Moirangthem, Gaikhonglung Panmei, Stephen P Doukhanlua, Hautinlal Suantak, Y Nabakishwar Singh, Pauzakham Ngaite and Bantee Singh Konthoujam.
the Sainik School, Imphal cadets who qualified UPSC NDA written exam are Md Yunus Khan, Ch Renvil Singh, Kh Ojitchandra Singh, Kheljit Thangjam, Th Bhagajit Singh, N Goutam Singh, Th Robinson Singh, Gingoulen Singsit, B Rakesh Sharma, S Jotin Singh, N Nillakanta Singh and P Sunraj Singh.
Welcoming the successful candidates of Manipur, the Chief Minister conveyed that the State Government is according top priority on education and human resource development.
Highlighting that among the North Eastern States Manipur is the first to have a functional National Institute of Technology which is currently in the third year academic session, Ibobi declared that the cash award is a part of the Government's initiative to encourage and boost morale of meritorious students.
He also clarified that rather than the past practice of awarding Rs 1 to Manipuri candidates who pass the preliminary stage of the UPSC conducted civil services examination, the State Cabinet decided today to provide a similar amount upon passing the main examination.
Moreover, the Cabinet approved same amount to successful candidates of Manipur in IFS and NDA/CDS examinations, the CM informed.
Announcing cash incentive of Rs 1 lakh to 40 Sainik School cadets, including those who have already joined the NDA course in the past few years, he also appreciated Sainik School authorities for regularly producing meritorious students.
