Imphal, November 01 2019:
Strongly condemning the blasts at Telipati and Thangal bazar recently, Youth's Forum for Protection of Human Rights has claimed that it suspects the 'serial blasts' were allegedly planned to 'suppress' the voice of the people.
As none of the armed outfits have claimed responsibility for the blasts, the 'cowardly' action is to bring in more paramilitary forces in the name of insurgency to mute the voice of the indigenous people who are deprived of their rights by the Indian security forces since the imposition of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act 1958, YFPHR alleged in a statement issued by its president Kh Phajaton today.
It urged all involved parties to respect International Humanitarian Law and stop 'forceful occupation of indigenous people's land
for economic gain' .
