Assam Rifles celebrates 188th Raising Day

Assam Rifles, the oldest and most decorated paramilitary force of the country celebrated its 188th Raising Day on March 24.To mark the occasion, Mantripukhri Battalion under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised an interaction programme with Ex Service Men, Veer Narees and dependents at Sanjeevani, Assam Rifles Ex Service Men Association Office in Imphal East, said a release issued by PRO of IGAR(S) .
The programme was attended by 160 Ex Service Men, Veer Narees and dependents.
Sehlon Battalion also conducted a wreath laying ceremony to honor the bravehearts of Assam Rifles who made supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
Special Sainik Sammelan for troops, screening of a short movie on Unit History & Barakhana were the other highlights of the event.
Moreover, Noney Battalion of Jwalamukhi Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (East) also celebrated the 188th Raising Day with students of various schools in Noney district Celebrations were held at Government High School, Haochong; Tongsat Memorial Junior High School, L Hengjol; Don Bosco School, Tupul; Don Bosco School, Khoupumand; and Students of Hope Children Home at Khumji-IV, said a statement of HQ IGAR(E) .
A total of 270 students took part in the celebration.
