MCPCR seeks info on child in distress

Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MCPCR) has urged all concerned to intimate the Commission in case any child has been rendered parent-less due to Covid-19 related fatalities or abandoned during the pandemic time.
While assuring to provide necessary care and protect rights of such child, MCPCR chairperson Manibabu Phurailatpam said in a statement that it is of utmost importance to look after the welfare of children in such a sad and tense situation.
The chairperson also pointed out under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection) of Children Act, 2015, every child is entitled to minimum standards of care and safeguard of their rights.
Issuing a notification on the matter, the Commission also called upon every individual, entity and organisation to inform Childline Helpline 1098 if any such information is available.
It further noted that any grievances of children may be forwarded or informed to the MCPCR either through its email [email protected] or by contacting Commission members RK Sumitra (9863265954) and Kh Jitendra (8132036601) .
