AR units conduct awareness drive, distribute relief items

44 Assam Rifles of 22 Sector/IGAR (East) organised a Covid vaccination cum awareness drive in Tamenglong district.
According to PIB Defence, the battalion has been conducting vaccination sessions for civilians on every Monday at its HQ and collaborating with State health department, Covid Task Force and community leaders for promoting vaccination among local populace.
The aim for the drive is to provide free vaccine to the people of the area where limited medical facility is available so that they could prepare to tackle the next Covid wave, PIB said.
So far, Tamenglong Battalion has successfully conducted 31 Covid vaccination sessions and mobile vaccination camps across Tamenglong and Kangpokpi districts and successfully administrated about 2000 vaccine doses to the civilian benenciaries.
Further, the battalion medical team is targeting to administer 5000 vaccines in days to come with the support of State health department and community leaders, it added.
On the other-hand, Churachandpur Battalion of IGAR (South) extended relief items to locals of M Songel village Churachandpur district on Monday.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that Covid prevention kits arid other essential commodities were provided to locals of M Songel village.
The locals were briefed and made aware on importance of Covid appropriate behaviour for overall health and well-being.
