World Red Cross Day observed across state

Imphal, May 08 2021:
On the occasion of World Red Cross Day, medical officers, nursing staff and other para medical staff of 44 Assam Rifles of 22 Sector conducted a Covid-19 Awareness Programme in Tamenglong town on Saturday.
According to PIB (Defence) Imphal, the unit displayed vehicle mounted posters to spread awareness about the importance of Covid-19 vaccination and following Covid appropriate behaviour.
The vehicle traversed through various lanes and by-lanes of the town to reach out to the society.
Audio messages were also played to attract the attention of all residents of the town.
The unit's Covid care helpline numbers were also displayed for wider publicity.
The helpline numbers 9862053455, 03877267227 are operational 24x7 for anyone wanting help with TELEMED-ICINE or seek medical expert advice related to Covid-19, the release stated.
Similarly, International Red Cross Society Moreh Branch also distributed face masks and sanitisers to the frontline workers of Moreh town on Saturday.
Officials of International Red Cross Society Moreh visited the Primary Health Centre and Sub-Divisional Hospital Moreh and distributed the face makes and sanitisers to the Covid Warriors of the hospitals.
Face masks and sanitisers were also distributed to Tengnoupal District Police as a gesture of appreciation for their duty and responsibility in combating the spread of Covid-19 .
