Central University Punjab team arrives in Imphal for weeklong exposure tour

The Yuva Sangam team from Central University (CU), Punjab arrived at Imphal today for a weeklong exposure tour to Manipur under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB), an initiative by the Government of India.
A press release by the Public Relations Office in-charge, Manipur University informed that the CU Punjab team members comprises 46 students and four faculties.
The team were accorded a warm welcome at the airport by the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) committee members, Manipur University.
A reception programme was also held at the varsity in the presence of Vice-Chancellor, In-charge, Professor E Bijoykumar Singh along with Professor R Varatharanjan, Dean School of Life Sciences; Professor M Premjit Singh, Dean of Students Welfare; Professor Ch Ibohal Singh, Nodal Officer EBSB Cell, MU; Dr RK Joteen Singh, Deputy Registrar; Dr L Pinky, Medical Officer and others committee members.
Professor E Bijoykumar while speaking at the occasion expressed gratitude to the Government of India and the Union Ministry of Education for the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative to promote interaction and understanding between people of different States across the country.
Emphasizing that the youths are the pillars of the Nation, he said that the youths should be aware of their responsibilities and strive for a secure and stable future.
He expressed belief that the exposure tour will foster culture and traditional exchange thereby setting up meaningful relationships among the people from Punjab and Manipur.
After the reception programme, the participants visited Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha at Thangal Bazar and offered prayers while the team visited Shri Shri Bijoy Govindaji Temple and Kangla Nongpok Thong Park in the evening.
