Imphal, May 08 2021:
Rongmei Naga Students' Organization Manipur (RNSOM) has appealed to all district level and block level medical officers and staffers posted at district hospital, CHCs and PHCs of Tamenglong and Noney districts to remain at their respective place of posting.
An RNSOM release issued by its general secretary Jeanthui Panmei said that the number of medical officers in the two districts is not adequate in-spite of the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Stressing the need for the medical personnel to stay put at their respective place of posting to respond to medical emergencies in the two hill districts, he also urged the state government to make necessary arrangements for ensuring deployment of sufficient number of doctors in the two districts during this critical phase of the pandemic.
"RNSOM is sad-dened by the continuous diminishing numbers of doctors in Tamenglong.
It is unfortunate that our continuous fervent appeals for posting of adequate numbers of doctors in the district hospital and CHCs at this challenging time are yet to generate any positive response till date," it said.
The students' body also appealed the general public to cooperate and comply with all directives of the state government in fighting the second wave.
