Moreh police begins drive to curb COVID-19

Acting on the orders of Tengnoupal district deputy commissioner (DC) Naorem Praveen Singh, Moreh police detained 11 people who came out from their homes without face mask and collected Rs 11,000 from them as fne.
From early Thursday morning, Moreh police took up various measures to prevent spread of COVID-19 in the border town and a large police team made the people aware about guidelines and SOPs issued by the district administration to prevent COVID-19.As the police team led by additional SP (Ops) M Amit Singh under the supervision of SP T Vikramjit Singh went around the town, 11 people were found not wearing face mask in public place and they were detained and fned.
The police team also encouraged people to maintain social distancing while purchasing goods from shops.
