RIMS resumes testing samples

The State Level Viral Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL), Department of Microbiology, which tests samples for COVID-19, RIMS has informed to all concerned that the RIMS VRDL Biosafety Cabinet is now functional and a new Biosafety Cabinet has also been installed.
The testing of samples resumed from today and it is of utmost importance that the VRDL staff work under Biosafety Cabinets while handling the samples since they are dealing with a highly contagious virus, said Professor Kh Sulochana Devi, Principal Investigator, State Level VRDL, RIMS in a statement.
She continued that 1,17,955 RT-PCR tests have been conducted in VRDL, RIMS till date and the VRDL team has been working relentlessly since the onset of the pandemic.
She also thanked the engineers who came from Guwahati for repairing the Biosafety Cabinet during this difficult time of the COVID-19 pandemic.
