Imphal, October 22 2017:
People's Resurgence and Justice Alliance (PRJA) which has completed one year declared that it would field its candidates in the Inner Manipur as well as Outer Manipur Lok Sabha seats in the 2019 Parliamentary election .
Speaking to media persons at their Thangmeiband Khomdram Selungba Leikai office today, PRJA convenor Irendro Leichonbam said that they would publish a vision document named Common Framework Manipur one year before the next Parliamentary election in consultation with experts under which all major issues of the State such as demand for ST status, ILPS issue, Naga issue etc can be resolved .
He categorically said that the Common Framework Manipur would be based on the pre-merger political status of Manipur .
Notably, PRJA was set up on October 18 last year ahead of the 11th Manipur Legislative Assembly election.
Even though the party contested the election in a few Assembly seats, it drew blank .
Irendro who contested the election in Thangmeiband AC said that their party joined the election with just Rs 25 lakh donated by people who trusted the party .
"At first we didn't believe that PRJA would last one year.
But today it has reached the first year and there are educated people who understand the party's ideology", Irendro said .
The party's sources of funds and expenditure details have been uploaded on the party's website .
This is something which big parties like BJP and Congress cannot do, he claimed.
With the completion of one year, the executive body has been disbanded and new executive body would be elected within a month, the convenor said .
He further informed that the party would soon open an RTI Cell.
Though the party has no huge followers, it has taken firm roots and there are youth who believe in the party's ideology.
There are still people whose voting rights cannot be bought with money .
When the State's youth come out in search of political party dedicated to the cause of Manipur, their ultimate choice would be PRJA .
Viewed from this perspective, the party has good prospects and a bright future, he added.
